It’s the holiday season and once again, negativity has reared it’s ugly head. It’s time that we take back the goodness. From the attacks on Paris, to the homelessness in your own backyard, we are not without power to make a difference.

This year, I’ll be donating both time to feeding not just my family, but my soul.

I need your help though.

This year, I’d like to use the proceeds from book sales to make a Christmas dinner plate for as many homeless as I can. And along with the dinner plate, I’ll be making “gift bags” with the essentials for those that face this situation everyday.

Then starting in January, I’d like the proceeds to help battered women living in shelters. Giving something to them to start their year off is the best gift I can think of.  A fresh way of thinking for a fresh start.

If this works, I’ll be doing things locally, in my own backyard, to make a difference.

I just want to make a change and those of you that want to help will help.

So what do I need? Exposure.

Share the link, buy the book. There’s no scheme to fame by doing this. I’m an independent author and my name isn’t Stephanie Meyers, so I’m not making a fortune off of any book sales. In fact, I’m using my own money to do this. By buying the book, you help me raise the funds needed to continue writing while giving back to my community, hopefully inspiring a positive change.

Big charities are nice and all, but their funds are divided up among running a non profit business…that means they do have to pay for advertising, materials, rent, etc. Making a commitment to help those that live in my community takes only the cost of what I give to them.

The dinner plate is as simple as cooking an additional dinner the previous day. If I can feed my family and friends with one large turkey and all the fixings, I can duplicate that and feed 15-20 more.

Why wouldn’t I? Why wouldn’t anyone?

Whether you celebrate Christmas or some other holiday..those that are homeless have very little to celebrate. My holiday is about feeding my soul.
