Writing Prompt: Darren’s estranged father has passed and he’s been called back to his childhood home to settle affairs. Packing his wife and son into the car they make the 10 hour drive. When they arrive, Darren steps into the house and it seems smaller and more suffocating. He’s questions his judgement when he has to tuck his son into his old bed. The view of the closet brings back memories of all the nightmares he endured as a young boy. He brushes it off as childish fears…until his son’s screams wake him in the middle of the night.
